Webinar: Year-End Accounting Closing Procedures For Churches And Nonprofits

by Alex Acree

This webinar will help your nonprofit or church get started in reviewing your organization’s accounting at the end of the year so you can prepare for the next year. An accounting software may have processes in place to assist you with some of the year-end accounting items, but there are some things you will need to take care of in addition to what your software may do for you. Some of these tasks are for compliance reasons, and others are so you can tie everything up and begin the following year with a fresh start.

During this webinar, we will discuss year-end accounting, bookkeeping, and overall back-office tasks that every nonprofit and church should accomplish. Then we will demonstrate how some of those tasks can be done in Aplos. We will also go over our accounting services and how they can help your organization save time so you can focus on your mission.

To follow along with the Aplos demonstration, sign up for a free trial. No credit card needed.

Topics we will cover include:

  • Year-end reminders, including housing allowances, W-4s, notices to contributors, and Christmas gifts
  • Year-end transactions, such as contributions, reimbursements, and payroll
  • Reviewing annual reports, bank account balances, fund balances, internal controls for next year, and budget preparation
  • Tax Forms, including W-4s, IRS Form 1099 for vendors, and contribution statements

Hi Megan!

I registered a couple weeks ago and never received a link to join. I still have not received a link today and the Webinar has already started. Will this be recorded?

Is the same information presented at both sessions, or do we need to plan on attending both the morning and afternoon sessions?

Hi Gene!

There is actually only one session for the webinar occurring. The different times you see on the sign up page are for people attending who may be in different time zones.

Thursday at 10:00 am is not really a good time for us. Could we view the Webinar later. Both of us who are doing the book keeping are not really available at that time and we would really appreciate it if we could watch later. Please let me know. Thank you.
