New Path Center (NPC) is a Non-Profit Organization based in Kingsburg, California. NPC was founded in 2005 by Tony and Bonnie Redfern, who both hold degrees in peacemaking and conflict studies/theology, certification in death and grief studies, and training to walk with others through life’s transitions.
In 1996, Tony and Bonnie lost their son, Scott, and went through their own grief journey. Through this process they realized that there is a strong need within the faith community for healthy grief work. Since then they have devoted themselves to providing a safe and healthy environment for those in need of the services they provide. They have a “no wrong door” policy, which means they are determined to not turn anyone away without help – they will help individuals find the services they need, even if NPC does not provide the service needed.
NPC provides a number of services for their clients and surrounding communities. While their staff may be small, NPC’s reach is large … and growing. In 2011 they managed 81 cases, and the services included: pastoral counseling, grief counseling, training, anger management, conflict coaching, family mediation, marital mediation, and community mediation.
Life’s transitions can be very difficult, and it’s great to hear about organizations like NPC making a difference in their community. It’s amazing what people can achieve when they apply their skills to their passions. If you would like to read more about NPC or donate online, visit their website here:
We at Aplos are proud to have customers that make a difference, and we wish all the best for Tony, Bonnie, and the work of NPC.
