The Best Nonprofit Podcasts — Find One Today

Ahh, podcasts. They seem to be popular again. You remember podcasts, right? According to Google, a podcast is “a digital audio file made available on the Internet for downloading, typically available as a series, with new episodes that can be received by subscribers automatically.” While this is an accurate description, many podcasts today can be played right from a site like Soundcloud or iTunes without ever needing to be downloaded.

Podcast Listenership

According to survey data from Edison Research, a growing minority of Americans are listening to podcasts. As of 2016, 21% of Americans age 12 or older say they have listened to a podcast in the past month, reflecting steady incremental growth since 2013 – when this share was 12%!

I recently rediscovered podcasts myself for topics like marketing, self-help, marriage and relationships, and more. Today, while I was looking for “nonprofit podcasts,” I found that they were all spread out over the web and it took some time to locate the best of them. So, I decided to pull together a solid list for you all to have as a resource. Oh, and I made sure to only include podcasts which are updated regularly. Enjoy!

Eric Burgess serves as Aplos’ Marketing Director and is passionate about all things digital media. When he’s not writing searchable content for churches and nonprofits to find online, he’s likely spending time with his family or out riding his downhill mountain bike in the Sierra Nevada mountains somewhere. Oh, and he's deathly allergic to tree nuts.
