The Balance Sheet is a fundamental report for demonstrating your organization's financial position to your board, donors, and other stakeholders. Following the positive feedback on the recent improvements to the Income Statement, we're excited to announce that we've brought the same level of customization and a modernized experience to the Balance Sheet report.
These updates provide greater flexibility, and an easier way to view your assets, liabilities, and net assets, helping you present your financial story with confidence.

A Deeper Look at the Updated Balance Sheet
Custom Branding and Titles
You can now add your organization's logo directly to the Balance Sheet and edit the report title. This is a small change that makes a big difference in presentation. Instead of a generic report, you can now produce a polished, board-ready financial statement that reflects your organization's brand, which is especially useful for external reporting to grantors or financial institutions.
Advanced Customization and Formatting
Similar to the recent Income Statement updates, a new "Customize" menu gives you granular control over the report's layout. You can now choose to see totals by account group or view the detail of subaccounts. For internal reviews, you can include accounts with zero balances to ensure nothing is missing, and then hide them for a cleaner external report. For reports with large balances, you now have the option to hide cents or divide by 1,000, making the numbers easier to read and digest.
These options allow you to tailor the report's density and focus for different audiences, from a detailed review with your finance committee to a high-level summary for the board.
Improved Exporting
When you export a report, you need to know that it's working. We've added a simple notification which will appear at the bottom of your screen to confirm that your report download is in progress. You’ll then receive a success or failure notification once it’s complete. This provides clear feedback and removes the guesswork, so you can confidently move on to your next task while the file generates.
These enhancements are designed to provide a more intuitive and consistent reporting experience across Aplos. They give you the tools to create clear, professional, and accurate financial statements that build trust and aid in strategic decision-making.
