What’s New in the General Ledger

We are excited to announce a significant update to the General Ledger in Aplos, available to all customers. For many charitable organizations, the General Ledger is a critical tool for tracking financial activity. With this in mind, we've made improvements to this report to provide you with a faster, more reliable, and customizable experience when using the General Ledger.

Note: If you don’t see the General Ledger updates in your account just yet, stay tuned! The General Ledger will be updated for all customers by the end of September. 

Faster and more reliable data loading

The newly updated General Ledger is designed to handle large datasets with ease, significantly improving performance and speed. This means you can reliably access your General Ledger data, no matter how extensive your transaction history. This overhaul is a major step in upgrading the performance of all reporting in Aplos and sets the stage for future enhancements in data handling.

Customizable views to see what matters most

Your reporting should work for you. With this update, you now have increased customization options to tailor the General Ledger to your specific needs.

New customization features include:

• Customizable Columns: Easily add or remove columns to focus on the information that is most important to you. The intuitive customize panel allows you to select exactly what data you want to see.
• New Data Columns: We’ve added new data columns, including AP Paid, AR Paid, and Invoice Paid, to give you a more complete picture of your financial transactions.
• Flexible Formatting: New formatting options, such as the ability to hide cents, choose how negative numbers are displayed, or divide totals by 1,000, allow for a more readable report.
• Saved Filters: When you apply filters to the General Ledger, you can save these customizations to your Reports page.

In addition to the faster performance and increased customization, you’ll also notice we’ve added color-coded totals to make it easier to scan the General Ledger.
